Kealakehe High School received information from Hawaii Police Department about a bomb threat around 3 p.m. Wednesday that was directed toward the school, according to a Hawaii Department of Education spokeswoman.

The school received the information from Crime Stoppers Canada, Lindsay Chambers, HDOE spokeswoman, said in an email to West Hawaii Today.

Kealakehe high administrators conducted a threat assessment then immediately cleared and secured the campus. School custodial staff, security, and administrators conducted a sweep of the school and no device was found.

A message will be sent to parents tonight via their Synervoice system sharing this information and asking them to share anything that can assist in the investigation, she said.
